According to the project sources, the ISL project was started in 1987 and was working successfully coping with the requirements of producing required material/mineral for the Commission.
But, unfortunately, the non-local authorities of the project terminated the services of 25 temporary workers on the pretext of reaching 60 years of age, said the sources.
They said no incentives, like allowances and bonuses, were awarded to them, although these temporary workers had spoiled their lives due to life-taking (sucking) radiation being extracted from the core of the earth keeping in view to array the country in the lines of "Declared States."
Along with regular and permanent officers, the sources said, there were more than 290 ad hoc workers, who were specialist in their fields, but they low-paid workers were deprived of incentives, like medical facilities and other allowances.
The ad hoc employees have appealed to President Pervez Musharraf and Chairman, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PARC) to regularise their services like those 4,000 temporary/daily wagers of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), so that they can work effectively with mental peace and for the prosperity of the country.
They also requested former Federal Minister for Natural Resources Anwar Saifullah Khan to intervene into the matter for the rights of regional/local employees.
The ad hoc workers also complained against the behaviour of principal administrator, accusing him of not following the fax instruction given the high ups of the PAEC and held him responsible for the most of problems in the project.
